Art Class

We have been studying some artists, works of art, musicians, architecture, and sculpture in "Art Appreciation" this year.  Yesterday the boys each did a sculpture of David (from the Bible).  They were told to sculpt David how they think of him.  The neat thing is that each of them really show their personalities in their figures.  Bradey, my tiny warrior, sculpted David with sling-shot in hand.  He said he wanted to show David killing Goliath.  He even made a tiny stone that he put inside the sling-shot.  Mason, my gentle spirit, sculpted David as a shepherd.  These little sculptures were too cute not to share!

I Don't Know How to Read, I'm Homeschooled!

That is not just a cute title to this blog post...one of my children actually said that to a doctor.  And trust me, I didn't think it was cute at the time.  It IS funny now and yes he CAN read.  Anyway, the boys really do like homeschooling and I love having them home each day.  Really.  Some days go smoother than others but most days are fun and I think my kids may actually be learning too!  Here are some "homeschool pictures" and a video of a project Mason did.  The project was voluntary and not part of our curriculum.  He actually did the project on his own one afternoon during rest time.  Even his teacher was impressed! :0)

...Ditty Bounding...

Here is Mac "ditty bounding!" In one of the Pixar Short Films, there is a jackalope and a sheep that bounce around singing a funny song.  A line in the song is-- "...bound, bound, bound, and rebound..."  One of our boys (who will remain nameless) thought the lyrics were- "...bound, bound, bound, ditty-bound..."  SO cute!  It became a family joke and every time someone hopped or bounced, we would joke that they were "ditty bounding!"  When Mac got this Jumperoo thing it just seemed logical to call it the "Ditty Bounder."  He gets asked often if he wants to "ditty bound."  And as you can see...He LOVES to!

Well, Here Goes Nothin'!

Okay, Okay...many of you are laughing at me right now and the thought that I might actually maintain this blog.  I'm gonna try!  I promise.  I couldn't bring myself to be on facebook-- I would have been worse on that.  Trust me.  Well, we have so much going on in our family right now and I am unable to keep everybody updated, SO... I thought maybe a blog would help me out!  I hope to keep you up to date on our move, the kids, and everything else in between.  Be patient with me as I figure this whole thing out.  I hope to have some pictures up of the kids soon and maybe even some videos!  Okay...you can resume your snickering now.
